§ 02What we work in
Six materials. One workshop.
Wrought iron
The traditional choice. Hand-forged bar stock, galvanised and powder-coated. Seventy-year life if maintained.
Mild steel
Faster to fabricate, lower cost, equally strong. Hot-dip galvanised before powder-coating.
English oak
Used as solid infill panels or frame members. Naturally weather-resistant, movement expected and designed for.
Iroko
African hardwood, naturally oily. Denser than oak — preferred for gates in exposed coastal positions.
Accoya
Modified radiata pine: dimensionally stable, guaranteed 50 years above ground. Our preferred timber for large gate leaves.
Aluminium
Light, low-maintenance and naturally corrosion-resistant — no galvanising needed. Used in three of our named collections, and available by special commission for a fully bespoke gate.
§ 03The finial library
Eight patterns, or bespoke.
Finials are cast from the originals in our collection, or modelled from your drawings. Custom patterns at no extra charge for orders over £12,000.

§ 04The finish
Four-stage protection. Guaranteed five years.

Hot-dip galvanising
The bare steel is immersed in molten zinc at 450°C, forming a metallurgical bond. This is the base coat — not optional.

Sweep and etch
The galvanised surface is swept with a wire wheel then etched with phosphoric acid to create a key for the primer.
03
Epoxy primer
Two coats of two-pack epoxy, applied by brush. This bridges any pinholes in the galvanising and bonds the topcoat.
04
Powder topcoat
Polyester powder applied electrostatically in an oven at 200°C. Final colour. Available in all RAL shades; satin or matt.
